In days past, if a car buyer was considering a custom order purchase, it usually meant that it was a rare car or they wanted something very specific. Either way, buyers were happy to pay for the benefit to get something special, even if they knew it would take time to finish the order. The status symbol of purchasing a rare car outweighed the wait time vs. buying a car off the lot. Fast forward to today, and the landscape has shifted greatly. Gone are the days of rows of new cars to select from, so if you want something different, then custom ordering from the manufacturer is now your best option. If you need a vehicle immediately, then purchasing from the available cars on the lot is still your best choice.
The fun part of custom ordering your new vehicle is that you can select only the technology you need. You can order your vehicle with the big NAV screen, leather seats, and AWD, and it can even be your lucky color: white! In the past, you might have compromised depending on the available new vehicles. You could get all of the features you wanted, but it was Front-Wheel Drive instead of AWD. Or they had AWD, but it had cloth seats, not leather. If you custom order, you get exactly what you want.
When you think about it, when you custom order your new vehicle from the factory, you don’t get stuck with features you don’t want. Maybe you needed All-Wheel Drive and NAV but didn’t care about the color or leather seats. In full transparency, you might not be able to order each option ala carte, yet by ordering your new car, you can reduce the unwanted upgrades. We do suggest that you check out any available option packages, as they often offer popular upgrades together at a discounted price.
