Mercedes-Benz Car Starter Repair

Mercedes-Benz car starter repair Austin

Your Car Will Not Start But Your Lights Still Come On?

If your Mercedes-Benz won’t start but your lights still go on, then it’s likely that your Mercedes-Benz needs your starter replaced. If you’re around the Austin area, then call us now for assistance.

Your Car or Truck Engine Will Not Turn Over But Battery Good?

When dealing with car starter problems, it generally takes a standard engine diagnosis. From battery to starter to ignition, there are multiple components to an ignition system, so finding the correct issue is absolutely crucial.

What is a Car Engine Starter?

“A car starter is a powerful electric motor that cranks your engine in order to start your car. The starting system consists of the motor itself, and the attached solenoid. The solenoid is what takes battery power and delivers it to the starter motor. It also pushes the starter gear forward, allowing it to mesh with the gear teeth of the engine’s flywheel. A high current is needed to start your car, so your battery has to have enough “juice” to enable the car starting system to work properly. Most of the time, when a car won’t start and the battery is fully charged, the starter motor is to blame. Starters do wear out.” *

Mercedes-Benz Engine Starter Problems – Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding all the finer points about car starter problems and repair is not for everyone. Nevertheless, here are some of the most frequently asked questions we get when a car won’t start but your lights go on fine.

What is the Price to Repair My Car Starter?

As vehicle starter systems vary from engine to engine, there is no set price for every service center or brand. When do you call, however, be sure to have the make, model, year, and trim level handy. Even so, it will need a diagnostic to provide a quote.

What Does a Broken Starter Sound Like?

A broken car starter will make a variety of sounds. These can range from overly loud clicking sounds to a high-pitched screech, or unwelcome grinding noises to irregular whirring. Even when the battery is good, you may turn the key in the ignition and still hear nothing at all. This is because of the multiple components of an engine starter system.

How to Tell if Your Mercedes-Benz Car Starter is Bad?

When testing to see if the Mercedes-Benz starter is needs to be replaced, every mechanic, factory-trained or not, should first begin with a battery test. Generally speaking, batteries need replacement far more often than your car starter needs replacement. This is easily done with a battery load tester or battery multimeter. If it’s working properly, it’s still always possible that it’s computer, neutral safety switch, battery connections, relay fuse, or theft immobilizer. As always, your best source is going to be your area dealer service center. Short of removing and testing the broken starter, a diagnostic most often includes a process of elimination.

Not at all pleased with the call center. When I called in and explained the problem, I was asked when I could bring the car in. When I reminded the person that I had concierge service and asked for them to pick up the car, her response was "Oh you'll have to have it towed in.". When I asked why it needed to be towed in, her response was "We can't be responsible if something goes wrong on the way here.". So I asked why she had wanted to know when I could bring it in, yet the dealer couldn't ...

The service department has improved a lot over the past few years. I feel like they're honest and many of their prices are the same or better than other dealers or independent shops. Now I don't worry when my car needs service. Very easy to communicate with them.
